Kopete 0.80.2 (KDE4.3.4): Created Meta-contact, cannot 'uncreate'
I've mistakenly created a 'meta-contact- which grouped a bunch of my contacts into one; now I cannot access my contacts individually and I cannot seem to remove this meta-contact at all.
Trying to delete the meta-contact causes Kopete to crash; I've files a bug report about that. Can anyone tell me how to fix this, or where I would find the file to manually edit? Running Debian Sid, KDE 4.3.4. |
You should find the config file for Kopete in the following location: /home/<username>/.kde4/share/config look for kopeterc. Make a backup of that file before editing.

I've looked in there (.kde/share/config/kopeterc not .kde4/....), but I don't see anything that specifically mentions the accounts that I've grouped into this annoying 'meta-contact'.

Resolved
I posted also on forums.kde.org after no resolution here; the solution is to:
1. right-click the meta-contact 2. in the right-click menu, go to the various contacts, expand them, and select "Change Meta Contact" 3. Popup window to pick a different meta-contact, instead put checkmark to "create a new metacontact for this contact". 5. Click [OK] 6. Repeat for others in that meta-contact as needed. Thanks for the eyeballs and help here at LQ! |
