Known issues when installing Fluxbox over gnome/kde

Hello,

I was just wondering what some of the known issues are when you install fluxbox to be your WM over Gnome or KDE but keep the rest of the functionality / packages from Gnome/KDE such as file manager ect.

I have installed fluxbox as a stand alone WM with Xorg running as my Xserver then installed a filemanager, ect. However I still run into some things that I miss from Gnome / KDE's functionality from time to time so I wanted to try to install Fluxbox just as the WM over Gnome or KDE however i've read that all though this can be done easily that it does have some conflictions.

The only confliction I know about is the short cut keys confliction between Gnome's filemanager and Fluxbox's shortcut keys for its menu system.

Is there any other major issues I should be worries or know about before trying this kind of install ??

The 2 Linux Distro's I run is Debian and Gentoo, both of which have the latest kerneals ect.

Actually there shouldn't be any conflicts at all. Since you aren't running them at the same time, "conflicts" like the one you describe really shouldn't affect anything. When you're running Fluxbox, the hot key you refer to should bring up the menu, and in Gnome it should bring up the file manager.
