Every time i try to open a URL link from Kmail i get endless Konqueror windows spawning until the system locks up. The "bug" recreates on Debian Squeeze, Testing and Sid with KDE 4.4.
I even went as far as installing KDE4.5, my current DE, the problem is still there. I thought the work around would be easy - set Iceweasel as system wide default browser. But it seems Kmail is the only program that ignores the default browser setting and insists on launching Konqueror, about a 100 time in a row. Anyone encountered this or know of a solution?

and you have tried uninstalling (properly with the package manager) and then having a fresh install of Kmail again?

My version: 1.12.2 has no such problems.

and I forgot to mention, have you tried right clicking on
the links and then opening them with Firefox instead?

and also if you run Kmail from the terminal and post the output here, perhaps someone might be able to guess out something!

What i did: purge-reinstall Kmail then update alternatives.
