Kmail dropping messages

Hey everyone,

I am having a weird problem with Kmail. When I connect to my pop server, it says something like "1 new message, downloading 0kb." Then, of course, the zero size message is never displayed. This appears to be linked to random messages dissappearing. I am accessing the same server with thunderbird, and that is working fine. Anyone seen anything like this?

off the top of my head I would check you are setup for POP3 access and not IMAP

Does that fit? I would expect it to fail everytime in that case. It is only doing this on occasion.

hmmm, can you replicate the issue repeatedly ?
I mean does sending an email from one address always fail ?
or is it only when tyhe email is over a certain size (blame outlook users and huge sig images) ?
does your ISP offer spam filtering ?
do you remember turning on spam filtering in KMail ?
Have you checked to make sure KMail has not just filed the messages in a folder other than inbox ?
Have you tried turning on the option for leave the messages on the server (just as a diagnostic step) ?
