Kile-1.9.3 installation in Kubuntu 7.04

Hi, I have Kubuntu 7.04. When I try to install kile-1.9.3 with the command
./configure --prefix=/usr/lib/kd3 --with-qt-dir=/usr/lib/qt3 it gives an error message;

Quote:
checking for C compiler default output file name... configure: error: C compiler cannot create executables
See `config.log' for more details.
Can you help me?

Consider installing/upgrading the 'gcc' package (i.e. the GNU C Compiler) with apt or synaptic
