After googling for a while found no answer.

I would like to create a keyboard shortcut to minimize/iconify an active window.
It can be done on gnome or kde but I use openbox as my choice of wm.

Alt+F2 brings up the run command on nearly any desktop environment
Alt+F4 kills the app being active at the time
Win+D will minimize all windows

How can I get Alt+F3 to minimize/iconify a window which is active?
Thin can be achieved by Alt+Space+N but it's to long and I would like to change this keybind on Alt+F3 since it is much quicker.

In fluxbox, which I use, there's a file at /home/user/.fluxbox/keys, which is the place where keybindings are set. So, maybe if openbox has a similar file for keybindings, you could transfer the the binding of Alt+Space+N to Alt+F3.

Solved

in the rc.xml file under <!-- Keybindings for windows --> add:

<keybind key="A-F3">
<action name="Iconify"/>
</keybind>

Then restart openbox
