keyboard and mouse acting funny

ok, well i just installed this gentoo distro, so i've been doing a lot of configuring. but the last time i rebooted, my mouse will only move in the up and down direction, and my keyboard, when i hit the up arrow key, it brings up a window that asks to save a screen shot. i'm using gnome, i checked my keyboard shortcuts, and it says its using "print" to save a screenshot, and if i hit the up arrow, it says it cant use that because it would make it hard to type. so i know it "knows" that the key i'm hitting is the up arrow but the key doesnt do what i want it to do. and if i turn off numberlock those arrows do as they are supposed to. i'm sure its some stupid thing, but i need some help. oh, if it helps, i have the logitech bluetooth keyboard and mouse set.
thanks
Joe
also, with the mouse, if i plug in my microsoft usb mouse it works fine.

EDIT: i just fixed the keyboard. i just set keyboard layout to default and restarted gnome. the mouse i suspect is an xorg problem, because that is the case when i'm in gdm, or in gnome.
