KDE panel not unhiding

I have my KDE (3.5.5) panel set to hide after one second. Every few days, the panel won't come up when I move the mouse to the bottom of the screen. I can fix it by running kcmshell panel and turning hiding off/on, but I'd really like to figure this out. Does anyone know of a permanent fix for this?

Have you tried setting it in Control Center - Desktop - Panels?

I know that problem, and also from former KDE versions. The fix I know and use is to not use that "feature" - I guess it's just a little buggy.

It works most of the time - the problem is that, every once in a while, the hidden panel won't pop up when I run the mouse pointer to the bottom of the screen, and I have to launch the KDE Control Panel from Terminal to fix it.

I was afraid somebody was going to say that... I'll guess I'll just have to live with it until they get around to fixing it.
