KDE Neon with Wayland - task manager disappears, then re-appears

Hi everyone,

Every so often the task manager on my installation of KDE Neon crashes, causing it to disappear, then re-appear. Proper functionality is restored, but it's annoying that it happens relatively frequently. (Maybe twice per hour.)

Any ideas?

Thanks.

I remember having that trouble once in a while a couple years back. I think it eventually went away on its own after an update. However, I'm fairly certain I read somewhere it can be caused by a troublesome widget. You could try temporarily disabling some or using alternatives to your current ones.

Perhaps watching it start up in terminal could give you some indication if there's an error happening.
To stop: killall plasmashell
To start: kstart plasmashell

I'm no expert at interpreting all those messages, but maybe something will be an obvious problem if you look through them.
