KDE Domino 0.4 Theme/style installing. First time

Well I downloaded the Domino theme from here: http://www.kde-look.org/content/show...?content=42804

I did untar the file but I have never installed a theme before and the readme file is blank. Could someone point me in the correct direction on how to install this (website to read, commands to run etc...)?

Thanks,
Kyle

Actually, you don't need to untar the file. You need to open the KDE Look and Feel part of the control center (under Appearance & Themes), and click on "Install new theme". Now browse to your theme, and install it. Simple enough, no?

Well I was there before and so I went to check it out once again just to see if I skipped over an option. Anyway what I noticed was with the tar.gz file is that its all source code files and headers. I did not compile it and when I started checking the files the one I thought was an installation file really was a text file explaining how to compile and install the theme.

Now I am just having a problem with getting the .rc styles to work with it. They keep loading as unnamed, unnamed(2), unnamed(3) etc... What could be the cause of this?

Thank you,
Kyle

It sounds like the path set up in the .rc file is off. Without looking at the particular theme, I'd be at a loss to say what exactly is causing it. Can you post the error output?

Well there is no error that happens it just does not load the .rc files. Here is what it looks like.

ok, I have done some research, and here's what I found. The file names in qt are screwed up. Take a look at your rc files. Are there spaces in them? I bet there are. If you look, you'll probably see something like "domino_custom glassrc", where that should read "domino_custom_glassrc". Try replacing the spaces with underscores, and see if that works.

Wow Thank you for the help. I never came across anything talking about having a space in the name. I just replaced the ' ' with '_' and now it worked. Thank you for the help again.

No problem. That's what I love about Linux... if you don't have the answer, someone else probably does, and they're usually willing to help. :-)

lol I found out that its some times case sensitive as well when it comes to files which is not the case in windows. I have to agree, thats the best part its one big group of people willing to help.
