I uses the redhat enterprise edition linux.I tried to install the gtkipmessenger(version 0.2.6) in my system.but when i uncompressed it and run ./confiugure, I got the error message as follows
'gtk-config --version' returned 1.2.0, but GTK+ (1.2.10)
*** was found! If gtk-config was correct, then it is best
*** to remove the old version of GTK+. You may also be able to fix the error
*** by modifying your LD_LIBRARY_PATH enviroment variable, or by editing
*** /etc/ld.so.conf. Make sure you have run ldconfig if that is
*** required on your system.
*** If gtk-config was wrong, set the environment variable GTK_CONFIG
*** to point to the correct copy of gtk-config, and remove the file config.cache*** before re-running configure
can you help me to solve this error? or provide me the link where I can download some other version of gtk ipmessenger
sounds like you have a different gtk+ rpm version installed to the gtk+-devel you have. but note that gtk+ is deprecated now, and you'd really be better off not using it. there appears to be a gnome2 / gtk2 versoin instead, which will presumably work much better.
