I've been trying to install XGL and Compiz on SuSE 10.1 w/ my ATI Raedon X300 video card. It seems, that even though I have 3D Hardware Acceleration enabled (at least I have the driver install and the OpenGL screensavers are running smoothly).
When I open up gnome-xgl-settings, I'm told to click the "Start Software Updater" button to "Install a special Video Driver" which doesn't seem to exist. When I run that, I get:

Is there some way to fix this, or to force xgl/Desktop Effects to be enabled? I know that my 3D Hardware Acceleration is enabled, so it might work (and I can always revert back to my normal X server if needed).
Either KDE or Gnome will be fine as I have both installed.
