Question Installing on Compaq EVO

I have a Compaq EVO (D500 or D510 I think) and want to install Ubuntu Linux on it. I noticed when I change the hard drive, it says that if I am using Linux to "configure setup." So, I go into setup, but I cannot find anything that has to do with Linux. Which setting do I have to change because it will not install.

Some BIOS setups have a section where it asks you what OS is handling the PNP functions. My old one at home has something about that and I had to set the OS to "Other". Maybe you have a similar problem?

Also, what do you mean by "will not install"? Does it try to boot the installer and give you a kernel panic?
