Installing Linux stopped booting into Windows
I have installed two new distro's today for a short while.
Both had the same result afterwards: I couldn't boot into Windows no more. I have a system with 8 different OS's installed on it. I installed "Zenwalk 6.0", but at the end of the installation it said that the lilo bootmanager could not be installed. Afterwards I could not boot into Windows no more. Well, it booted into Windows, but Windows didn't load completely. Restoring the MBR didn't help. Reinstalling the grub installer didn't help. And because I didn't know what else to do without having to think it over for sometime, I just reinstalled the back-up image of Windows. (I have back-up images of every OS on my computer.) Okay. All was working again. I installed the beta of "64studio", and it resulted in the same problem: couldn't boot into Windows no more. Used the same solution. Anybody know what happened here? Feed-back is very much appreciated. |
I still could boot fine into all the other linux OS's.
