Installing HPLIP Software to Support HP LaserJetPro M127fw
Okay. I'm running Mint 17.3 on my ASUS laptop and connecting wirelessly to my HP LaserJet Pro M127fw, via our Verizon network.
I have Xsane Image installed, and I use Simple Scan, which is a very user-friendly interface.
I HAD been using HPLIP 3.15.2, with no problems; however, when I upgraded to HPLIP 3.17.11, I was still able to print, but lost my scanning capabilities!
Fortunately, I imaged my drive beforehand, and now I want to go back to HPLIP 3.15.2.
Here's the problem:
I ran "dpkg -l hplip", and got this:
Desired=Unknown/Install/Remove/Purge/Hold
| Status=Not/Inst/Conf-files/Unpacked/halF-conf/Half-inst/trig-aWait/Trig-pend
|/ Err?=(none)/Reinst-required (Status,Err: uppercase=bad)
||/ Name Version Architecture Description

Does this mean that hplip 3.15.2 is installed? If so, why am I no longer able to scan? If not, how do I install it?
Thanks for any help, guys. I NEED my scanner to work!
I believe it does mean that is the installed version. To verify that, try
Code:
hp-probe
Try starting your scanning program from the command line; it might throw some useful error messages to the terminal. Me, I've always used xsane because of inertia and it has always worked for me.

I'll try that later tonight, frankbell. I've been at this for 2 full days now! Gonna take a little break to catch some "Olympics" action, then back to it.

However, when I run "hp-plug-in", I get:
