Installing both catalyst and fglrx at the same time?

Hi

I have a sort of dilemma, i want to install both drivers in my setup, but when i try to install them with my packet manager, it says that catalyst-utils conflicts with my libgl from my fglrx. Now comes the questions:

Can i ignore the conflict, since the libgl´s seem equal and does not diff from eath other?
And if not, how can i install both at the same time without conflicting?

Im using Arch linux, with kernel 2.6.28-ARCH

I have no idea about how arch manages the ati stuff, but since catalyst contains the fglrx driver as well, I think that if you want to use it just uninstall fglrx and install catalyst, which is fglrx+more things.

so, what you are saying is that i can still load the normal fglrx module "fglrx" in my xorg cfg, and the catalyst one "ati", if i just have catalyst installed? Ofc not at the same time, but they are both installed if i install catalyst?

No. What I am saying is that catalyst includes fglrx.

"ati" is a different driver.

But, as I said, I am based in assumptions and the fact that you said in your first post that there's a conflict because both packages include "fglrx". I have no personal experience with ATi cards in Arch.
