I downloaded skype rpm package several times now and ran it with graphic tool rpmdrake ( which of course demands root password). but i every time get following message:
' The following packages have bad signatures:
/home/myusername/skype-1.3.0.53-1mdk.i586.rpm: Invalid signature ((SHA1) DSA sha1 md5 (GPG) (MISSING KEY) GPG#d66b746e NOT OK)
Do you want to continue installation ? '
why does it come every time? it can't be that every time some bits get lost and something's bad?! ( i also downloaded that package from another location. it's the same).
there are tar.bz2 files to download too and some signature file( i don't know how to use that file)
bytheway what's the difference between dynamic and stactic binary tar.bz2 ?
( i receantly posted 'post-installation of wine' thread but i changed it and asked different question. about if it's possible to setup voipstunt on linux thrugh some layer or something)
The error message means that either the rpm was not signed with a gpg key or it was signed by a key thats not an official Mandriva gpg key. When you download rpms from third parties and you get those errors, just click on "continue installation".
ok, i did that and installed the skype. now i've got another problem. my mic doesn't work, i tested it with a robot and also calling the other skype. i can hear the voice.
i was thinking, if that rpm isn't signed does it mean that if something goes wrong during download, it won't be discovered?
I don't think there's anything wrong with your installaton. Many people have the same problem. See the Skype Linux Forum for some advice.
The only way I can get my microphone to work with Skype is to run the Windows version under Wine. Wine HQ has some useful information about how to do this.

No, the key error means that the package is not an official Mandriva package or the gpg key used to sign it is not recognised. If the rpm was corrupted duiring the download, it probably would not install at all.

Yeah, but i can't install wine in the first place. no matter what i do, after installation i find wine in the menus but when i try to run one of the uttilities nothing happens. it's just runing and runing...and it time out.

thanks!
so i'm clear that the problem has nothing to do with installation.
Have you started the wineserver. After installation it is stopped. Go to MCC/System/Enable and disable system services. If wine is shown as stopped, click on Start. If you want it to start on boot, make sure that box is selected.
