Before I got this ThinkPad, I was using a Lenovo Edge 15 and when I used Xubuntu 16.04 my preferred GTK+ theme, GTK+LightMotifColor, it would show individual rectangular buttons for open applications on the upper panel:

On my new ThinkPad T520, I have Xubuntu 17.04 and the entire top panel is flat with no buttons that stick out, which kind of messes up the Motif/'90s vibe I'm going for. Is this because of a change in Xfce or the configuration Xubuntu uses between versions? Can I get the buttons back?
