The system report error ,say the package can not run in x86_64 platform. But I can't find anyother drivers run in x86_64 from NVIDIA.com.Without drivers,I have to change to Windows to post for help,my Linux don't produce sound..

From the nvidia website:
http://www.nvidia.com/object/linux_n..._1.0-0310.html
... what is wrong with NFORCE-Linux-x86_64-1.0-0310-pkg1.run ?

Release notes:
http://download.nvidia.com/XFree86/n...easeNotes.html

Other drivers, including x86-64 versions

Not "NFORCE-Linux-x86_64-1.0-0310-pkg1.run",but "NFORCE-Linux-x86-1.0-0310-pkg1.run"
I install the .run file in the follow step:

type:
# telinit 3
# sh NFORCE-Linux-x86-1.0-0310-pkg1.run -q

Then,the system report error:
#ERROR:this .run file is intended for the Linux-x86 platform, but you appear to be running on Linux-x86_64.Aborting installation.

And,thank you,Simon Bridge.I'll try your advice later.

If you follow the first link that Simon posted it will take you to a page that has the 64-bit driver you need.

Why not? What's wrong with it?

In general:

1. When you are provided with links, follow them. I provided links because I was looking at the solution to your problem, and this is the most efficient way to get it to you without being insulting.

2. When assistance includes a question, answer the question! If you are asked a question it is because the reply is important to helping you. By refusing to reply, you are requiring the people helping you to guess the answer, or otherwise employ their psychic powers. Psychics get paid a lot of money for dubious results, we get paid nothing for precise assistance. Help us out .

You have done neither of these things. Since it seems you are not prepared to help yourself, why should I help you?

In your next reply, please indicate that you have followed the links and tried to use the 64 bit driver and/or answer the question I gave you. Thank you.

BTW: there is supposed to be a space after each comma and period. It helps them fill their role as separators. Please use punctuation in a literate manner.

And while I'm at it: do you ever clean that computer? That desk is filthy, and the monitor caked with dust... tidy up those cables and wash that coffee cup... and that t-shirt? Call that a t-shirt? When was the last time you showered?
