Question I need a way to give several users permissions to run a single program

I followed these instructions on installing Songbird:

These instructions show how to add a single user to use Songbird, but I have 3 users that need to use it.

How should I set up Songbird so that several users can all use it?

I read the how-to you mentioned, honestly, it's quite unusual to have directories owned by individual users in the /opt directory. It's normally owned by root and so are the directories in it.

Then, you use groups to set up permissions for different users to run applications from there. You create a new group, say, 'sbusers', include the users who need to run the program in it, and then set ownership of the /opt/Songbird directory to root.sbusers and put the correct permissions on files in it (group excutable, readable or writable as needed).
