Whenever I try to select Beryl as the Windows Manager, it automatically reverts back to Metacity. I have my ATI drivers installed correctly, I have installed all the required packages to make Beryl run but I just can't seem to switch my window manager to Beryl. Any help would be very much appreciated.

The ati drivers disable composite when dri is enabled. Both are required for beryl. You need to look for a howto on using beryl with xgl. Sorry I can't be of more help, but I am having the same problem myself. Just make sure you really need to use the ATI driver, If you can use the open source one, It is much better. I believe all cards before the X800 are supported by the open source one. I have a X1300.
If you check your package manager in your distrobution (Ie. Suse = YAST, Debian/Ubuntu = Symantics) check to see if all the beryl packages have been installed as well. When I orginally installed beryl my only windows manager was GTK, I had to go into my package manager and install the rest of the beryl packages / addons.
Also I had a problem with my windows manager becoming corrupt and had to reset all my beryl settings back to default let me pull up the command for that, as that fixed one of my issues with my windows manager.
