Lightbulb How to Use Wi-Fi hotspot from my Ubuntu14.04 Desktop Network

In my Office system I'm using a LAN network on my system, I want to use that network as a wifi hotspot network to phone.
what are the requirements for that i don't know whether my system is hardware equiped for that.
i tried this:
network settings>edit connection>Add>WiFi>
Name:Wifihotspot
SSID:Wifihotspot
mode:adhoc (then tried infrastructure too)

Wifi Security Tab
WPA&WPA2 personal
pswd

IPV4 tab
shared to other computer too

then SAVE
now on the terminal
edited the file Wifihotspot from /etc/NetworkManager/system-connections/
and edited ad-hoc as ad-ap
saved

then disconnected the network and connected again
but in the networks list (up and down arrow on the right top of the desktop)there is no wifi network is showing

what did I do wrong.

Wait one.
Are you saying that you want to CONNECT to WIFI on that LAN, or
Are you saying that you want to make your PC into a WIFI hotspot on that LAN to allow other things to connect?

The difference is huge.
For makign your PC into a hotspot, see this https://help.ubuntu.com/stable/ubunt...ess-adhoc.html link.

Yeah the second one make my pc a hotspot machine so my mobile can connect to the network through wifi.
and the link you given is already tried but no use.
In the network there is no 'wireless" on the left(the second step of that link)

That may be just as well. Are we talking about your home office, company office where you own the company, or company office where you work for someone else? There are legal, ethical, and practical issues to consider before the technical.

Technology is easy. Right and wrong can get "complicated", and I do not want to get anyone fired or arrested!
