Using Ubuntu 12.04.2. I like to listen to a local radio station. All
previous versions have been OK. But now from the stations web site going to "listen Live" and clicking it goes to: http://stream.mediatechusa.com:8080/WFOY
How to trace what program(s) is called from here.
On my laptop the program works correctly.
Thanks
That URL points to an ASF audio stream, so it's likely gonna be opened by an associated browser plugin able to manage that kind of files.
What browser are you using?
Using Firefox. Everything is up to date. This has been a problem to me
as I have installed Ubuntu 12.04.2 from a full system online upgrade from
10.04 as well as from an ISO. My laptop has 12.04 from an ISO which was
made shortly after the release. I have found many 'lib' items missing
from the 12.04.2 versions.
thanks

yes, it stops for me too. It is not called from that url, but invoked by the browser you have. I tried to open that url in VNC and that worked for me (media, open network stream), but first it will be redirected to mmsh://stream.mediatechusa.com:8080/WFOY?MSWMExt=.asf. So it will be played as an asf file
