how to run the avi file format on RHEL 4 linux

hi everybody:

how can i run the avi file format on the RHEL 4 ,
Note the xmms doesn't support it, is there any plugin or software i can use to play the file ??

mplayer can run .avi files, just make sure to get a set of
recent codecs.

You can install xine or mplayer. I think dag has some packages for RHEL4.
