Hello

Download the iso file for the Fedora version that you want to install, burn it to a blank disk as an image (don't just copy it to the disk), then boot your computer with the new installation disk in your CD/DVD drive (be sure your system BIOS is set to boot from the CD/DVD drive). Follow the Fedora installation instructions after the installation disk has booted.

It would be very smart to maintain a backup of your Windows installation just in case you should want to return to it at some point in the future. You can always delete the backup later.

also old XP machines might not be supported
fedora 18 NEEDS 2 gig of ram ( 1 gig ram bare min. to install )
but at least 2 gig of ram to run well and 3 to 4 gig ram is better.

also if you have legacy ATI or nvidia 3d card installed , they are not supported

please read the install guide
