How to disable copy/paste?

I'm looking for ways to disable copy/paste functionality for a user when using an Ubuntu desktop environment (any).

This doesn't have to be a total lock-down as it would just be aimed at preventing an inexperienced unprivileged user from using copy/paste, therefore any ideas as to how to make it difficult to copy/paste as opposed to impossible would also be of interest.

My thoughts so far on how this might be achieved (I've no idea if these are possible)...

- Limit copy/paste buffer size
- Intercept 'copy'/'paste' action or key press
- Remove copy/paste from menus and keyboard mappings
- Create clipboard monitor to wipe clipboard when not empty

The version of Ubuntu I'm currently using is 8.10 but if you have any ideas how this can be done with other versions of Ubuntu or even other distros that would be of interest.

Any ideas / thoughts are very welcome!

Tom

PS. If there are other forums you know of where this message might be more appropriate let me know!

I don't know of any way of doing this, but I would like to know why you think this loss of functionality is needed.

Hi

I dont know if you can do it in a word processing program or not. The only place
I have seen it is on the web where right clicks were disabled under java.

This site has some instructions on using java to disable the right click.
http://www.hypergurl.com/norightclick.html

Hope this helps
