how to control the linux desktop.
 

Dear Friends,

here i want to keep control in the linux system desktop. but i want to do some applications. if i open the application some key or something has to authenticate.

so, please help me.

Question is not clear to me !!

May be I am wrong but what I have understood is that when u login into your system and start an application, you want the application to ask for your password ??

Is that what u want ?

Or perhaps, you want to login automatically? Or is it the gpg key-server error?

Yes, once again i shell explain my dear friend, i want to do work in Firefox or some applications only. is there any way?

You mean to say that nothing else than firefox should work ?
and if u click something else it should ask for the password ?

When you click on the Firefox launch icon, what happens?

Normally Firefox should just launch and attempt to access the internet. If you're seeing some sort of authentication message, it may not be Firefox...it may be your network asking you to prove you have the right to use that network. If you are seeing an authentication message, can you type it here so we can see what you're seeing?

Are you wishing to restrict a certain user to only be allowed to run a certain application when they login?

If this is what you mean, then it could be hard to do and depends on the application itself.

In a terminal shell environment, the basic way is to set the user's shell program to be the application itself, or to be a shell script that runs the application with specific arguments, options and/or environment settings. Then it is that application that must further restrict the user to not run other things inside that application. This is a convenience system and not a security system.

In an X Window environment, it depends on the facilities of Gnome or KDE or whatever windowing system you are using. The details of how to do this depend on which. It won't be very easy.
