how i can use linux through windows


hi all

my question is ..

i have install both os windows & linux on same machine i.e duel boot

so can i access linux when windows is boot.

thanks

No, you can't normally "use" Linux while booted into Windows. However, you may be able to read files from the Linux hard drive partitions using a tool such as Explore2fs or YAReG. If you wish to use Linux commands while in Windows, you might find Cygwin useful. You could try Cooperative Linux which claims to be able to make Linux run inside Windows without full virtualisation, but I've never tried it myself so have no idea if it's any good.

The other alternative is to run some kind of virtualised environment in Windows/Linux, and install the other OS into that.

Emulator

Hi

If your a Windows user try running an emulator like cygwin which you can download and install like any other program.

Just my 2 cents.....

You can't run your installed Linux while in Windows. However you can run a Linux

I use vmware workstation to run linux whilst running Windows..worth trying.

http://www.vmware.com/download/

PS. vmware enables you to run several guest operating systems on a host machine e.g Windows all running at the same time.
