How do you add/remove indicators on the Unity panel?
I tried googling and googling to find out how to do this in Unity 7.1.2, but I can't seem to find out how. I just installed Unity on Linux Mint 16 and it's working great. However, I just want to add a simple clock, volume control, and cpu monitor to the panel. Right-clicking the panel does absolutely nothing and I can't find anything in System Settings that can let me edit panel items.
Also, can I disable the fade effect on the panel menus? It's causing quite a bit of lag when I flip through them. |
Hi:
This should help- http://askubuntu.com/questions/22400...o-the-launcher If that doesn't work try dragging the icon of the application that you want into the launcher and let go of the mouse. That should attatch it to the launcher. I (think) the fade effect is in sytem settings or in advanced settings for the desktop. If compiz fusion is installed go into the Compiz Manager and turn off all of the effects- Hope that helps-;) http://www.techsupportalert.com/cont...on-edition.htm http://www.itworld.com/software/3066...tu-1210-faster |
Indicators on the Unity Panel
On Ubuntu 12.04 LTS with Unity, I used to go through all the hassle of making my own .desktop files and things, but now I use an app called Drawers to do so.
It's painless to try and can run programs, open specified folders or files, and so on. Hope this helps. |
