How do I reset desktop settings in GNOME?

It is pretty trivial to reset the desktop settings in KDE – just rename the .kde dot file to something else. My question is, if you want to reset the desktop settings in GNOME, is there a similar way to do it?

You have to rename the various ~/.gnome* directories and possibly ~/.gtkrc* (if its a theme related problem).

If you wanted to reset everything, wouldn't you just delete the whole ~/.gnome directory? When you start GNOME again it will just think your a new GNOME user.
