How Can I Make Epiphany the Default Browser?

Hi all,

I'm using Ubuntu 9.04, and I would like for Epiphany to be my default browser.

When I use the GNOME "Preferred Applications" tool to set Epiphany as the default browser, it works for that session, but when I log in again, Firefox is back to being the default browser.

I've also tried the command line option: update-alternatives --config x-www-browser. The result is the same.

Is there some GNOME configuration file I can edit by hand maybe?

The main annoyance is that when I click on a HTML link in Evolution, the webpage appears in Firefox instead of Epiphany. So maybe there's some way to set the browser for Evolution as Epiphany?

Thanks.
