Hot to convert .max files generated with scansoft paperport


I have .max files generated with scansoft paperport. I need to convert them to .jpg because i cannot open them. convert (montage) does not recognizes the format of .max file. Does anybody know how to convert them ?

Not sure if it works under Wine, but you can download the Paperport .max viewer here. If it doesn't work under Wine, try the Paperport Viewer on a Windows PC if you have access to one.

Then either
1. Take a screenshot (PrtScrn key, etc.)
2. There should be an option (if I googled correctly) to right-click the picture (within Paperport viewer) and select export (as .jpeg) or a copy image option under the file menu and then paste it into a program like the GIMP, then save it as a jpeg.

There is no "Export" feature in the viewer, but you can "Print".
If running under wine, it should be no problem printing to a file (using e.g. generic Postscript).
Under Windows you would have to use PDFCreator (use the msi version as it's without additional software).
