help with WINE

Hey everyone, I'm running slackware 11 with a 2.4 kernel and i'm trying to get wine to work, mostly because i want to run pokerstars on my laptop. When trying to install wine, i first tried running ./tools/wineinstall (i think this is right) as root, and it says to run it under a user rather than root, so I did this. After running this which took a long time, I logged into root and ran make install, which had some errors, but i'm not sure if it's the problem. Now after this, i tried running winecfg, or wine sol, and either one is giving me an error that it cannot load driver or something. Did i complete the install correctly? Thanks, theangler

Did you read the README and INSTALL files (both of them) through? I don't think you need to run "make install" after running wineinstall; the wineinstall script should be (as far as I know) a "complete process" to install wine, the other way is to build it manually which might need some additional steps..did wineinstall produce any errors?

If you're unsure, try removing it and reinstalling it (before that read at least INSTALL file through so you understand it).
