Help with Frostwire installation

Hi guys, my first post here and it's going to be a real newbie question, sorry lol

Have used linux in the past and have now tried a few distros. Have settled on PCLinuxOS.

Now I know frostwire comes bundled with this distro but its not the latest release. I need this one and have uninstalled the packaged version. Have messed about with the console before but am not sure which packages this distro uses and also the relevent commands. Also it would be helpful to know how to update the packages Synaptic provides to accept those outside what is already available. For example I would like to install automatix2.

Many Thanks In Advance for any help you can provide.

automatix2 is for Ubuntu, attempting to run it on PClinuxOS will most likely screw your system up.

You could try the rpm from http://www.frostwire.com/ , but most likely you will need to compile it from source. You could also post in the PCLinuxOS forum and ask Texstar to update it.

Will probably help you get more sources for Synaptic.

The best place for you to ask for help with PCLOS is the official PCLinuxOS forum.
