LinuxQuestions.org - Hardware Monitor Applet showing incorrect temp and fan speed

Just installed a fresh copy of Linux Mint 10 (basically Maverick) and set up lm-sensors but in the Hardware Monitor applet it's showing my CPU running a cool 4.5 C and my mobo as 5.5 C. It's also showing the fan speeds at a pokey 2.97rpm and 3.36rpm. Here's an output of "sensors"

CPU Temperature:  +49.0°C  (high = +60.0°C, crit = +95.0°C)  

MB Temperature:    +42.0°C  (high = +45.0°C, crit = +95.0°C)

The values in the applet also never change even if I use the "stress" command to crank up my CPU usage.

Any advice would be appreciated!
