Grouped Desktops?

(Title sounds odd- I know)

Basically what I've been wondering and would really like to do, is to have everything grouped.

Is there a way at all to set up Compiz and the desktop spaces to have separate windows of each specific thing, like the following for example:

Desktop 1- all Open Office documets
Desktop 2- Rhythm box or movie player
Desktop 3- All instant messaging conversations
Desktop 4- All graphics software, GIMP, PSE etc

You get the idea. My aim is to basically organize my desktops accordingly.

Anyone know how to go about this?

Thanks in advance,

Regards.

Jack.

That would be the job of your windows manager.

I don't know of any way to do it automatically, but you could do it manually by setting options for each app to remember its position and desktop for the next time it opens.

Usually done by right-click on the titlebar of the application window (depending on your de/wm).
