Milosevic LQ Newbie Registered: Nov 2005 Posts: 19 Rep:	Gnome-settings-daemon doesn't work Hi, i have gnome installed on my gentoo. When i start X and gnome finishes loading, i'm presented a dialog telling me about problems in the gnome-settings-daemon. A picture with the dialog is available here: http://img269.imageshack.us/img269/8435/83972204.png I tried killing the daemon and starting it manually, but then i get: (gnome-settings-daemon:4654): WARNING : Cannot open display: Any idea of what is wrong?
