Gnome OS Question

hey guys

i just read about the plans for Gnome OS 4.0, i didnt really understand a phew things.

Will they be making a gnome OS 3 before 4.0 comes out so we can get an idea of what there planning, and what will there OS be based off

Doesn't seem to be much talk about it yet. Looks like a launch of an OS for Gnome 4.0 only.

I do not have a link to the article I read, but from what I gather, two members of Gnome's development team gave a presentation about the subject at a Linux-related conference in Europe. Their "plan" is for Gnome 4 to be released as an operating system and have 1/5th of the market by 2020. I doubt the rest of the people at Gnome are as distanced from reality as those two are.

In other words, do not get too excited about it.

I read somewhere that the operating system is not intended to be a distro for end-users, just a convenient testbed for developing gnome and its applications in a known and controllable environment.
