gnome-mouse-properties is not updating the home directory gconf entry immediately

I found an issue with gnome-mouse-properties. Lets assume the following case

1. Launch Mouse properties dialog using gnome-mouse-properties
2. Change the mouse orientation to left handed.
3. close the app.

Result: Mouse orientation changes to left handed propertly, but the entry in /home/user/.gconf/desktop/gnome/peripherals/mouse/%gconf.xml for left_handed is not getting updated immediately. Its takes exactly a minute to update this entry.

I changed the code to use gconf_client_suggest_sync() to sync, but of no use.

But, if I do change mouse-orientation from gconf-editor the entry in the home directory gets updated immediately.

Could any tell me why the delay of one minute before updating the home directory entry?

Not on here we can't (unless there are some unexpected lurkers around). try the Gnome mailing lists.
