Gnome mount cdrom, kde not
Hello
I use Ubuntu for some time now, however I prefer kde. So I found this tutorial on internet:http://www.psychocats.net/ubuntu/purekde I removed gnome and installed kde. This is what I would like to fix: When I put cd in cdrom I canīt see that cd on my desktop like in gnome, no popup window asks me what to do next. Is there other way I can view contents of that cd? perhaps install additional packets or commads in terminalz Thanks in advance |

In the popup menu click on Create New -> Link to Device -> CD-ROM device. You will get another popup menu called Properties for CDROM-Device.desktop - KDesktop. Fill out that menu and click on OK. Whenever you click on your new desktop icon KDE will mount the CD-ROM and start kfmclient for you. ---------------------- Steve Stites |
Thanks for reply, I created shortcut to cdrom like you described and all works.
