gnome/gdm 3.0 laptop system beep on shutdown

I can't get rid of the beep on a few laptops when shutting down all of the sudden. I have gnome 3.0, kernel 2.6.39, xorg-server 1.10.2. I'm running Arch Linux.

The pcpskr module is not loaded at any time. I've also added a bell style line to my inputrc and some xset lines to xinitrc.d.

My gut tells me it's something to do with gnome, gdm. I'm wondering if it's a dconf setting for gdm (or each individual user), but I have no idea what.

Has anyone dealt with this?

Are you sure that it is not loaded?
Code:
lsmod|grep pcspkr
It can no longer be blacklisted in /etc/rc.conf and must be blacklisted in /etc/modprobe.d/.
