Gnome display manager shows different settings over SSH and physical access

Hi all,

I have a Centos 6 machine. I am unable to set the proper resolution for the monitor because "Gnome display manager" is unknown monitor and showing very low resolution options. But when I access the machine over ssh (-X) and run "Gnome display manager" , it's showing the correct monitor and settings. The only difference I am seeing is in the value of "DISPLAY" variable.

Can anyone help?

lsmod | grep video

The X server is running on the ssh client machine, so those are the settings you are dealing with.
