Freenode.net + xchat == bad password?

Hello,

I'm trying to connect to irc.freenode.net but cannot. It gives me the following when I try to connect.

Code:
* Looking up irc.freenode.net
* Connecting to chat.freenode.net (194.24.188.100) port 6667...
* Connected. Now logging in...
* *** Looking up your hostname...
* *** Found your hostname, welcome back
* *** Checking ident
* *** No identd (auth) response
* Hmmm, that wasn't the right password
* Closing Link: 127.0.0.1 (Bad Password)
* Disconnected (Remote host closed socket).
I've tried to use the other mirrors chat.freenode.net and the others but I get the same error. Anyone know what's going on? I use FC6 and xchat.

Check your settings for freenode and make sure you don't have anything in the "server password" field. There is a field for your nickserv password if you registered with freenode.

Well, something seemed to work. I didn't have any password placed in the field, but I unchecked 'Use Proxy Server' and I also disabled global settings. I also used a nickname not so common. Now I'm connected. Thanks for your help
