Folder capacity

Hi, good morning friends. i am using red hat 5. when i check my directories in terminal service, all directories capacity its showing 4096 bytes. if directories are empty also its showing 4096 bytes. please solve my problem.

That is the size that the directory itself, takes up in the filesytem, not the contents of the directory.

Look into "du" to find the collective size of directories.

$ man du
