fluxbox can't see my libre office window

Hello,

When I run libre office (3.5) it appears to be running normally but I don't see anything. It doesn't show up on any desktop or in any window list, but if I ask X for all children of the root window I see an entry...

shell% xwininfo -root -children | grep sof
0x1e00001 "LibreOffice 3.5": ("soffice" "Soffice") 10x10+10+10 +10+10

If I ask wmctrl for a window list(which askes fluxbox I think) then I don't see an entry for soffice. Also xwininfo seems to be telling me that the window is onscreen in the upper left hand corner. Which it is most certainly not! If I run fvwm, then it comes right up! I don't have an entry for libre office windows in ~/.fluxbox/apps.

This worked fine up until today and I'm absolutely stumped!
Any ideas?

Ubuntu 10.04.4
Fluxbox 1.1.1
libre office 3.5

scratch that, it worked once, but I now have the same problem in FVWM as I do in Fluxbox.

Ok, so numerous log-outs and log-ins didn't fix the problem.
But a full reboot did, so there you have it. X11 black magic strikes again.
