Fluxbox: 3 or more monitors, how?
My xorg.conf is configured to use three monitors via two graphics cards and works with KDE.
(My) Fluxbox wont work with three monitors. ~/.fluxbox/init has configuration details for: session.screen0 session.screen1 and these work fine on a dual monitor configuration with a single graphics card. However adding: session.screen2 configuration details does not make use of the third monitor. Searching the web reveals lots of 'Fluxbox howtos' for dual monitor systems but not more than that. |
The problem was me ...
My .fluxbox/startup file has:
xclock & I had somehow accidentally removed the: & Therefore the start up sequence for Fluxbox was not progressessing any further than xclock. After putting the '&' back again, things are now working as expected. My .fluxbox/init file still needs to be configured to customise the third screen but currently, as I type, all three monitors are displaying separate Fluxbox desktops, which is what I want. I don't know if there is a: 'Weekly LQ Dufus Award' but if there is, I would like to apply and at the same time apologise for this thread. |
