Flicker and other problems with VNC
1 Attachment(s)
I am running tiger vnc server on Fedora 23. The client is tightvnc on Windows 10. This used to work flawlessly until I reinstalled my Linux laptop (still Fedora 23), and now VNC is practically unusable.
It's as if the GUI couldn't decide what to show. I see windows that I closed already, windows that are partially drawn, parts of the screenserver and the normal desktop at the same time, several input fields and a lot of flicker. The attached screenshot illustrates the chaos on my screen. Same tightvnc client has no problem with VNC on a different Linux server (Centos 7), so my initial thinking is that there is something wrong on the newly installed Fedora box. Where should I start looking? I am not an expert in X11. |
VNC has several options for video output, check them out.

Thanks Emerson. It turns out that I had forgotten to update the OS after installing it. A stupid mistake, but now VNC works.
