FireFox not seeing Flash plugin on FC5

I am using FC5 with Mozilla FireFox in XWindow. When I go to a site with Flash, I receive the popup bar at the top saying I need to install the flash plugin. When I do so, FireFox downloads and installs, and says the installation is succesful. Yet even after restarting FireFox, and the entire machine itself, FireFox still says I need to download the plugin.

I have also tried a manual installation of the plugin files, but to no avail.

Any ideas?
