Firefox can't access https anymore

I've just upgraded firefox to 1.5.0.6 and it cannot access https website anymore.
It gives the following message :
Unexpected response from server
Firefox doesn't know how to communicate with the server.
* Check to make sure your system has the Personal Security Manager installed.
* This might be due to a non-standard configuration on the server.

I went to firefox settings, in the advanced/security tabs. I checked for security devices and there are none. There should be some NSS Internal PKCS #11 stuff.
How to restore that?

Thanks

Do you still have SSL enabled under Options -> Advanced -> Security? That would be the first thing I would check. Sorry if you've done that but it's unclear from your post.

Found a solution to https prob

Hello,

I had that problem too, but I've found a solution that works for me.

1. Download Firefox from Mozilla's Site - firefox-1.5.0.6.tar.gz (8.1MB) and unpackage it in somwhere in ~ preferably. The package should be binary, and not source so no compiling. (ie mine was the binary) The folder will be called "firefox", rename it to "firefox-1.5.0.6".
2. Goto /usr/lib and rename the firefox-1.5.0.6 to firefox-1.5.0.x.
3. Copy the ~/firefox-1.5.0.6 to /usr/lib.
4. Run firefox normally, and check if it acesses Gmail or Firefox Extensions without the error.
5. If all works, Horray. I deleted the firefox-1.5.0.x from /usr/lib as it is no longer used.

I hope that helps.

Cheers,
