Question Fedora19: Application/solution for managing image files.

Hi Friends,
I am looking for an application/solurion for managing my image files, on fedora I have like 10000 image file all dumped on single folder, problem with them is I don't need most of them also I need to sort them by type of image it contains, and put them in different folders accordingly. Is there any application available on linux, preferably fedora where I can sort files and delete unwanted ones. I remember of using one such similar software on M$ 98 few years back, don't remember the name. but it allowed me to rename files from within application, delete them from disc etc. even if I am able to do that I can script it out sorting and moving of files.

* challenge with scripting this is, how to make the script understand content of the file where I have random file-names. I can very well work it out when I have to work with file names.

Thank you.

Shotwell will do what you are looking to do. It's a bit simplistic, though; for more robust management, you could also try Digikam. THat's the one I tend to use.

Then again, something like Gwenview would also work. It's an image viewer with a lot of built-in conveniences for managing them too.

I'm not clear on what you are trying to script, so I have no answer for that one.
